Media Group Ukraine ( uk, Медіа Група «Україна») is a media holding company that manages System Capital Management Group's television and new media projects. The holding company is a professional investor in Ukrainian media business. Media Group Ukraine is one of the largest media holding companies in Ukraine. In July 2022, it was announced that Rinat Akhmetov (sole owner of the media group) had left the media business. It was announced that Media Group Ukraine plans to give up all broadcast and satellite television licenses and print media licenses in Ukraine in favor of the state, as well as the termination of online media. This was explained by the entry into force of the law on oligarchs. However, Forbes Ukraine made a report in which stated, that the Media Group Ukraine costed 100-150 mln USD per year, thus it was not profitable business and Akhmetov decided to cut costs during the ongoing war with Russia. System Capital Management or SCM ( uk, Систем Кепітал Менеджмент) is a major Ukrainian financial and industrial holding company established in 2000 in Donetsk in the east of the country and since 2014 headquartered in Kyiv. The business is controlled by Ukrainian businessman Rinat Akhmetov, who owns 100% of the company shares. In 2011, the group had revenues of around $19.5 billion and assets worth over $28.4 billion. Ukraina ( uk, Україна; officially TRC Ukraina, uk, ТРК «Україна») was a national Ukrainian-language TV channel, owned by Media Group Ukraine. It began broadcasting as a regional, Donetsk TV channel on March 13, 1993, with getting a national status in 2004. It ceased broadcasting in July 2022. The channel consisted of TV shows, films and TV series, both domestic and foreign. History Channel Ukraine was established in Donetsk in March 1993 as the state utility company Doka-TV. The operator was in stake under Donetsk City Council. The channel started broadcasting in Donetsk on Channel 7, where, as a result it, shared time with other TV companies – "ASKET 7x7" and Sket. Football 1 (''Football'' until December 2013) was first specialized TV channel in Ukraine, dedicated exceptionally to association football, football broadcasts. Football 1, Football 2 and Football 3 broadcast Ukrainian and European club competitions, international matches and other football events. These channels belong to the Media Group Ukraine. A new channel Football 3 was launched on 1 February 2020.
