Ufuoma Onobrakpeya
Ufuoma Isioro Onobrakpeya (born 1971), is a Nigerian painter, printmaker and teacher of art. Ufuoma is a 3rd generation artist, whose grandfather Obi Omonedo Onobrakpeya was a carver. While growing up he was also art apprentice to his father Bruce Onobrakpeya for a period of 2 decades. Biography Ufuoma Onobrakpeya was born February 21, 1971, in Lagos, Nigeria. Bruce Onobrakpeya
Bruce Obomeyoma Onobrakpeya (born 30 August 1932) is a Nigerian printmaker, painter and sculptor. He has exhibited at the Tate Modern in London, the National Museum of African Art of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. and the Malmö Konsthall in Malmö, Sweden. The National Gallery of Modern Art, Lagos has an exhibit of colourful abstract canvases by Onobrakpeya and his works can be found at the Virtual Museum of Modern Nigerian Art, although no exhibitions were showing . Early years Bruce Onobrakpeya was born in Agbarha-Otor in Delta State, son of an Urhobo carver. He was raised as a Christian, but also learned the traditional beliefs. Camberwell College of Arts is a public tertiary art school in Camberwell, in London, England. It is one of the six constituent colleges of the University of the Arts London. Mike Omoighe
Michael Akhaine Osebhajimete Omoighe (11 July 1958 – 23 January 2021), better known as Mike Omoighe, was a Nigerian painter, curator, art critic and teacher of art. Born in Opoji Ekpoma area of Edo State in Nigeria, he grew up and lived in Lagos, Nigeria most of his life. Omoighe studied at Yaba College of Technology (1978, ND); at Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi (1980, HND); at the University of Lagos - UNILAG (1987, Certificate in Polytechnic Management (CPM) NBTE)) and at the University of Ibadan (1994, Master's degree in Visual Arts Communication) M.C.A.) The Pan-African University (or Pan African University) (PAU) is a post-graduate training and research network of university nodes in five regions, supported by the African Union and the Association of African Universities.
