Udaya Film Awards
The Udaya Film Awards is the most prominent award ceremony for Kannada films presented annually by Udaya TV, a Kannada-language division of the Sun Network, from the South India, south-Indian state of Karnataka. The awards ceremony has been instituted to honour both artistic and technical excellence in the Kannada cinema, Kannada language film industry. Held since 1998, the ceremony was discontinued for over 6 years and made its comeback in 2006. The sponsors have been made by Knockout and ITC Limited, Sun Feast before and currently by ITC Limited, Vivel Active. Best Actor The Udaya Film Award for Best Male Actor has been awarded since 1998. Ganesh Kishan (born 2 July 1980), known mononymously as Ganesh, is an Indian actor and television presenter known for his work in Kannada cinema. Through his career in films and television shows, he has become one of the most popular celebrities and highest-paid actors in Kannada cinema. He is the recipient of several awards, including two Filmfare Awards. Ganesh shot to fame with the film ''Mungaru Male'' (2006), which set a record in Kannada cinema. In theatres, it was speculated to have collected over 75 crore by the end of its record-breaking 865-day theatrical run. Ramya (actress)
Divya Spandana (born 29 November 1982), better known by her screen name Ramya, is an Indian actress and politician. She served as the Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha from Mandya, Karnataka. She primarily works in Kannada, alongside Tamil language films. Ramya is the recipient of two Filmfare Awards South, an Udaya Award, and a Karnataka State Film Award. ''Addhuri'' is a 2012 Kannada film, Kannada romantic drama film starring Dhruva Sarja in his debut film, along with Radhika Pandit in the lead roles. The story, screenplay, dialogues and direction are by A. P. Arjun of the Kannada movie ''Ambari (film), Ambaari'' fame. V. Harikrishna is the music director of the film.
