USAFL
The United States Australian Football League (USAFL) is the governing body for Australian rules football in the United States. It was conceived in 1996 and organized in 1997. It is based in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. As of 2011, there were over 1,000 registered USAFL players. There are 50 member clubs, of which 48 have men's teams (all except North Star Blue Ox and the Centennial Tigers) and 27 have women's teams. Most of the football clubs in the United States have a traditional 18-a-side team for representative purposes and multiple 9-a-side teams running in a local league. Each year the USAFL holds a National club championship, a tournament open to all clubs across the nation, the largest of its type in the world for the sport. USAFL National Championships
The USAFL National Championships is a tournament for Australian rules football in the United States. Since 1997, the National Championships have been a large event featuring teams from the United States and Canada in four men's divisions and two women's divisions. The competition is organized and run by the United States Australian Football League. History The first championships were held in Cincinnati in 1997, and they were won by the host Cincinnati Dockers. The Queen City would host the first three Nationals, with the 1998 edition welcoming 10 teams. The 2017 edition saw the largest turnout in the history of the carnival; 53 teams representing 42 clubs across North America took part, including a record 13 women's teams representing 27 USAFL and AFL Canada clubs. Denver Bulldogs
The Denver Bulldogs are a United States Australian Football League (USAFL) club, based in Denver, Colorado, United States. Founded in 1997, the club is currently composed of a Division 1 men's team, a Division 1 women's team, and a Reserves men's team. The Denver Bulldogs are the most successful club in the 22-year history of the USAFL, having won eight men's national championships and six consecutive women's national championships. The Austin Crows is a United States Australian Football League team, based in Austin, Texas, United States. It was founded in 2002. They play in the Mid American Australian Football League. The United States national Australian rules football team, nicknamed the Revolution, represents the United States of America in the sport of Australian rules football. The 49th Parallel Cup (formerly PanAm Cup) is an annual representative Australian rules football match between the United States and Canada first contested in 1999. Since 2007 the women's teams have also contested the cup. The men's matches are contested between the United States men's team ("The Revolution") and Canada's men's team ("The Northwind") while the women's matches are contested between the United States women's team ("The Freedom") and Canada's women's team ("The Northern Lights"). United States Women's National Australian Rules Football Team
The United States women's Australian Rules football team, also nicknamed USA Freedom represents the United States in the sport of women's Australian rules football. The USA Freedom was founded in 2007 as the USAFL Women's National Team. The team has played numerous matches against the Canadian Northern Lights in both the US and Canada. The team first formed to compete against Canada at Thunderbird Stadium in Vancouver 2007. The Freedom was the first International women's team to travel to Australia on a 2009 tour of the country playing against teams in Sydney, Melbourne, Country Victoria and Cairns in Far North Queensland. The inaugural coach of the USA Freedom, Wayne Kraska of Atlanta, stepped down from the position at the end of 2010 with Leigh Barnes of San Francisco picking up the reins. 2005 Australian Football International Cup
The 2005 Australian Football International Cup was the second time that the Australian Football International Cup tournament, an international Australian rules football competition was held. The event was hosted by both Melbourne and Wangaratta, Australia in 2005. 10 nations participated following the late withdrawal of both Nauru and Denmark and the introduction of Spain. All sides were scheduled to play 4 games, after which the top 4 sides played off in semi-finals for a berth in the Grand Final decider. The Grand Final was between Papua New Guinea and New Zealand. Both sides went through the tournament undefeated.
