UPIM ("Unico Prezzo Italiano Milano") is an Italian chain of midmarket department stores specialising in clothes for men, women and children, items for the home, and cosmetics and perfumes. It currently operates 135 directly owned stores and more than 200 franchises, plus 15 stores under the Upim-BluKids brand. For a long time part of La Rinascente Group, it was acquired by Coin in 2010. The first store opened in Verona in 1928. (La) Rinascente (; ) is a collection of high-end stores with Italian and international brands in fashion, accessories, beauty, homeware, design and food. It operates eleven stores in Italy, including its general headquarters in Milan and two flagship stores in Rome. It was a member of the International Association of Department Stores from 1959 to 2008, with various CEOs acting as presidents of the Association over time. Coin (, ) is an Italian upmarket department store chain dedicated to the worlds of apparel, home decorations, accessories and beauty. Its headquarters are located in Mestre. History Coin was founded in 1916 in Pianiga, province of Venice, Veneto, Italy, by Vittorio Coìn, who obtained a street vendor license to sell fabrics and haberdashery items.
