UMM Alter II
The UMM Alter II is a Portuguese automobile produced by UMM from 1986–1994. UMM Alter II Phase I In 1986 the Alter II was released by the Portuguese automobile manufacturer União Metalo-Mecânica (UMM). It featured a new 4-speed manual gearbox, a new transfer case and a new suspension. The engine remained the same 2.5-litre diesel engine which developed 76 PS. Although it was a new model it was very similar to the previous one and very difficult to distinguish. UMM Alter II Phase II In 1987 a new facelift was made. Alongside with the 2.5-litre naturally aspirated diesel engine, it was available a new 2.5-litre Turbo Intercooler engine, new 5-speed manual gearbox, ventilated disk brakes in the front axle, power steering and a MOMO (company) racing steering wheel. UMM ( pt, União Metalo-Mecânica, links=no, ) is a Portuguese metal works factory and ex-automobile manufacturer based in Lisbon, Portugal. It was founded in 1977 with the purpose of manufacturing four-wheel drive vehicles for agricultural, industrial and utility applications. A power steering is a mechanical device equipped on a motor vehicle that helps drivers steer the vehicle by reducing steering effort needed to turn the steering wheel, making it easier for the vehicle to turn or maneuver at lower speeds. BMW M50
The BMW M50 is a straight-6 DOHC petrol engine which was produced from 1990 to 1996. It was released in the E34 520i and 525i, to replace the M20 engine. In September 1992, the M50 was upgraded to the M50TU ("technical update"), which was BMW's first engine to use variable valve timing. Called single VANOS by BMW, the system adjusted the phasing of the intake camshaft. The M50 began to be phased out following the introduction of the M52 engine in 1994. BMW M51
The BMW M51 is an inline-6 cylinder Diesel engine produced by the Upper Austrian BMW plant in Steyr from July 1991 through February 2000. Its predecessor is the BMW M21, the successor is the BMW M57. Description The M51 is a water-cooled and turbocharged inline six-cylinder diesel engine with a Bosch VP20- swirl-chamber-injection. The displacement is and the compression ratio is 22.0:1. BMW M21
The BMW M21 is a straight-six diesel engine developed by the Bavarian engine manufacturer BMW. It has swirl chamber injection and is based on the M20 petrol engine and was produced for BMW by the Upper Austrian Steyr engine plant from 1983 to 1991. It was succeeded by the M51.
