James Cook University Hospital Railway Station
James Cook (also known as James Cook University Hospital) is a railway station on the Esk Valley Line, which runs between and via . The station, situated south-east of Middlesbrough, serves James Cook University Hospital and the suburbs of Berwick Hills and Park End, Middlesbrough in North Yorkshire, England. It is owned by Network Rail and managed by Northern Trains. History Plans for the building of a station at the hospital had been discussed for some 25 years, including as part of the, now abandoned, Tees Valley Metro project. The station was finally given the green light by Middlesbrough Council's planning committee in January 2013, and construction work started in January 2014. The station cost £2.2 million to build and opened to the public on 18 May 2014. It was officially opened on 18 July 2014 by then Minister of State for Transport, Baroness Kramer. Jewellery Quarter Station
Jewellery Quarter station is a combined railway station and tram stop, situated in the Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham, England. The station is served by West Midlands Trains (who operate the station), Chiltern Railways, and Midland Metro. The station is set at the mouth of Hockley No 2 Tunnel below the elevation of its road-level access point on Vyse Street; stairs and a lift are provided. History Jewellery Quarter station was opened in 1995, as part of the "Jewellery Line" project which saw the re-introduction of cross-city services via Birmingham Snow Hill. Midland Metro services commenced in 1999, when its first (and so far only) line from Birmingham to Wolverhampton opened. No previous station had existed at this site, however the area was historically served by Hockley station, located a short distance west, which had been opened by the Great Western Railway in 1854, and was closed with the line in 1972. Johnston railway station is an unstaffed railway station in the village of Johnston in Pembrokeshire, Wales. It opened in 1856 as part of the final section of the South Wales Railway main line from to . It has gone by various names and is now operated by Transport for Wales Rail. Train stops are made at the station by request only. The station was the junction for trains to Neyland and also the branch line to Milford Haven. Johnstone railway station serves the town of Johnstone, Renfrewshire, Scotland. The railway station, station is managed by ScotRail and is on the Ayrshire Coast Line south west of Glasgow Central railway station, Glasgow Central. Johnstone has no ticket gates but ticket checks take place occasionally. History The station was opened on 21 July 1840 by the Glasgow, Paisley, Kilmarnock and Ayr Railway.Butt, page 129 The station was renamed Johnstone High on 18 June 1955, however its original name was restored on 10 September 1962. Just to the east of the station there was a junction connecting to the Bridge of Weir Railway. National Rail (NR) is the trading name licensed for use by the Rail Delivery Group, an unincorporated association whose membership consists of the passenger train operating companies (TOCs) of England, Scotland, and Wales. The TOCs run the passenger services previously provided by the British Railways Board, from 1965 using the brand name British Rail. Northern Ireland, which is bordered by the Republic of Ireland, has a different system.
