UAE Team Emirates
UAE Team Emirates () is an Emirati road bicycle racing team. The team competes at UCI WorldTeam level and has done so since the UCI World Tour was formed as the top category of road cycling in 2005. However the team was temporarily suspended from the ProTour in 2010, missing one ProTour event. Transition from an Italian-based team Chinese involvement In August 2016 the team (then called Lampre-Mérida) confirmed that its WorldTeam licence was being transferred from CGS Cycling to Chinese company TJ Sport Consultation, with the team becoming the first Chinese WorldTour team from 2017. Former team manager Mauro Gianetti was announced as the co-ordinator for the project. Davide Formolo (born 25 October 1992) is an Italian professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Formolo turned professional in 2014. Biography Born on 25 October 1992, in Negrar, Italy, Formolo resides in Marano di Valpolicella, Veneto, Italy. He signed with , a UCI ProTeam, for the 2014 season. Formolo signed with , a UCI WorldTeam, for the 2015 season. On 12 May 2015, at the Giro d'Italia, Formolo escaped with twenty riders, and successfully soloed, , to the finish. Finn Fisher-Black (born 21 December 2001) is a New Zealand professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He is the younger brother of fellow racing cyclist Niamh Fisher-Black. Early life Fisher-Black was educated at Nelson College from 2015 to 2017. Career Fisher-Black started the 2021 season off by defending his National Under-23 time trial title. If the elite and Under-23 results were combined Fisher-Black would've won by 9 seconds. After a crash in Le Samyn ruled him out of contention he set his sights on the Istrian Spring Trophy. Mikkel Bjerg (born 3 November 1998 in Copenhagen) is a Danish cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Bjerg won the under-23 individual time trial at the UCI Road World Championships in 2017, 2018 and 2019 – becoming the first rider to win multiple under-23 time trial world titles. George Bennett (cyclist)
George Bennett (born 7 April 1990) is a New Zealand professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He represented New Zealand at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics. He was the winner of the 2017 Tour of California, the 2020 Gran Piemonte and the 2021 New Zealand road cycling championships. He came second in the 2020 Il Lombardia. Career Bennett was born in Nelson in 1990, where he was educated at Waimea College. He originally took up cycle racing as a mountain biker, moving to Switzerland in 2009 to pursue his amateur career. Bennett turned professional in 2012. In 2013, George Bennett nearly won the New Zealand road cycling championships. The 183.7 kilometre race in Christchurch had 10 climbs up the steep Dyers Pass road and Bennett was leading by 45 seconds over Hayden Roulston with the final flat 12 kilometres to go.
