UAAP Varsity Channel
The UAAP Varsity Channel is a Philippine collegiate sports channel owned by Cignal TV in partnership with University Athletic Association of the Philippines. It is the official broadcast channel of the said athletic league which airs different sporting events. History On October 23, 2020, Cignal TV formally signed a broadcast agreement with the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) for the coverage rights of every UAAP varsity sporting events until 2026 on TV5 and One Sports, in addition to a new dedicated channel on the Cignal service. On September 8, 2021, Cignal TV formally launched the UAAP Varsity Channel at 4:00pm (Philippine Time) with an archive footage of the 65th season's men's basketball finals, played in 2003 between longtime rivals Ateneo Blue Eagles and De La Salle Green Archers. TV5 (also known as 5 and formerly known as ABC) is a Philippine free-to-air television network based in Mandaluyong, with its alternate studios located in Novaliches, Quezon City. UAAP Cheerdance Competition
The UAAP Cheerdance Competition is an annual one-day event of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines for cheerdancing. The sequence of the performance are determined by drawing of lots prior the competition. Before the announcement of winners and after all squads have performed, a recap is shown during the telecast. Only the Top 3 are announced at the end of the competition. The tally sheet of the total number of points garnered by all squads will be posted on social media briefly after the announcement of the top three. The 2015 UAAP Cheerdance Competition currently stands as the most attended collegiate sporting event in both the UAAP and across the Philippines, with a record-breaking 25,388 paying audience. PBA Rush
PBA Rush is a 24/7 exclusive channel of Cignal, which has been currently airing games of the Philippine Basketball Association. The channel is patterned after NBA TV and was launched on July 5, 2016. The 3-year partnership agreement between Cignal and the PBA was signed on July 17, 2016, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, 2 days after the opening of the 2016 PBA Governors' Cup. Aside from the live telecast of the PBA games (in English commentary), other programming included in PBA Rush are same-day replays of PBA games (in mostly Tagalog commentary), games from the PBA D-League, (also in mostly Tagalog commentary) and behind-the-scenes shows such as Kuwentong Gilas.
