Balls (TV Channel)
Balls was a Philippine pay television network based in Quezon City. It was notable for being the country's first local high-definition TV channel. It was owned and operated by ABS-CBN's subsidiary ABS-CBN Cable Channels. The network shows notable sports broadcasts from the Philippines and abroad, as well as other sports related programming. Its local programming were produced and licensed by ABS-CBN Sports. ABS-CBN Corporation is a Filipino media company based in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It is the largest entertainment and media conglomerate in the Philippines. Jeepney TV is a 24-hour Television in the Philippines, Philippine pay television channel owned and operated by ABS-CBN Corporation, ABS-CBN's narrowcast arm Creative Programs Inc. since 2012. The programming consists of classic and archived series and programs previously aired on ABS-CBN. ABS-CBN Sports was a sports division of the Philippine media conglomerate ABS-CBN, which aired some of the notable sporting events in the Philippines. ABS-CBN Sports began in 1998 as the main broadcaster for the network-backed basketball league Metropolitan Basketball Association which introduced the home-and-away play format in the Philippine basketball landscape. Velvet was a Filipino cable television network based in Quezon City. It was owned and operated by Creative Programs, Inc. (now ABS-CBN Cable Channels), a wholly owned subsidiary of the media conglomerate ABS-CBN Corporation. The primary focus of the network was into women-oriented general entertainment programming. Channel Information Velvet had a sneak preview on SkyCable channel 25 since November 2007, together with Maxxx and Balls. Velvet was officially launched on January 1, 2008. Velvet also aired selected shows on Studio 23 (now S+A). The channel went off the air at the midnight on January 1, 2014.
