''Uyare'' () is a 2019 Indian Malayalam-language thriller film directed by Manu Ashokan (in his directorial debut), written by Bobby–Sanjay, Bobby & Sanjay and produced by the sister-trio Shenuga, Shegna, and Sherga. The film stars Parvathy Thiruvothu, Asif Ali (actor), Asif Ali and Tovino Thomas with Siddique (actor), Siddique, Anarkali Marikar and Prathap Pothen in supporting roles. The story follows the life of Pallavi Raveendran (Parvathy), an aviation student who survives an Acid throwing, acid attack that jeopardizes her career. Filming that began in November 2018 was completed by the end of January 2019. ''Uyare'' was released in India on 26 April 2019. Parvathy Thiruvothu Kottuvattaa (born 7 April 1988) is an Indian actress who predominantly appears in Malayalam and Tamil cinema, Tamil language films. Asif Ali (born 4 February 1986) is an Indian actor and producer, who predominantly works in the Malayalam film industry. Pratap Pothen (13 August 1952 – 15 July 2022) was an Indian actor and filmmaker who acted in about 100 films and directed 12 films. He appeared in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu as well as Hindi films. He also worked as a scriptwriter and producer for films. Early life and career Pratap was born in Trivandrum, Kerala on 13 August 1952. He started out in the film industry as a villain before later taking on character roles. He died on 30 July 2020, as a result of liver-related ailments.
