Uttara Export Processing Zone
Uttara Export Processing Zone (UEPZ) (), also known as Uttara EPZ or Nilphamari EPZ, is the seventh of the eight export processing zone in Bangladesh located at Nilphamari. It's the only export processing zone of Rangpur division/ north Bengal. It was established in September 2001on about 213,66 acres of lands in Sangloshi area in Nilphamari town. Industrial plot There are more than 180 industrial plots in this EPZ. Allocation of 138 plots has been completed. 12 plots are running. 33 plots undeveloped and 09 plots are empty. Company 1. Rangpur Division ( bn, রংপুর বিভাগ) is one of the Divisions in Bangladesh. It was formed on 25 January 2010, as Bangladesh's 7th division. Before that, it was under Rajshahi Division. The Rangpur division consists of eight districts. There are 58 Upazilas or subdistricts under these eight districts. Rangpur is the northernmost division of Bangladesh and has a population of 15,665,000 in the 2011 Census. The major cities of this new division are Rangpur, Saidpur and Dinajpur. The Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) ( bn, বাংলাদেশ রপ্তানী প্রক্রিয়াকরণ এলাকা কর্তৃপক্ষ ) is an agency of the Government of Bangladesh and is administered under the jurisdiction of Prime Minister's Office (Bangladesh), the Prime Minister's Office. Its objective is to manage the various export processing zones in Bangladesh. BEPZA currently oversees the operations of eight export processing zones (EPZ). A ninth zone is scheduled to open in the future. Recently government has announced that in 15 years 100 new EPZ and SEZ will be established.
