The Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences, formerly U.P. Rural Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, is a medical school, hospital and medical research public university located at Saifai in the Etawah District of Uttar Pradesh, India. It came into being after the upgrade of UP Rural Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (established in 2005) by Government of Uttar Pradesh under Act 15 of 2016. History In 2005, U.P. Rural Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, a state government run medical college affiliated with Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur was established in Saifai village, District Etawah, Uttar Pradesh. It was established by UPRIMS&R, Saifai, Act 2005 notified on 15 December 2005. Raj Kumar (professor)
Raj Kumar (born 15 December 1959) is a professor of neurosurgery. He was a founding director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh and former vice-chancellor of Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences. Education and career Education He did his B.Sc. from Kanpur University in 1980. After that he joined Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College, Kanpur and completed his M.B.B.S. and M.S. (Master of Surgery) in 1985 and 1990 respectively. He attended All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi and completed his M.Ch. in 1993. Later he did his Ph.D. in Neuro Ayurveda from University of Lucknow in 2013 and was awarded D.Sc. (Honorary) from Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences in 2018. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), before 2015 as the Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), is a public collegiate university in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established as the Uttar Pradesh Technical University through the Government of Uttar Pradesh on 8 May 2000. To reduce workload and to ensure proper management, the university was bifurcated into separate universities, Gautam Buddh Technical University (GBTU) and Mahamaya Technical University (MTU), with effect from 1 May 2010.
