Utah Valley Express
Utah Valley Express, also known as UVX, is a bus rapid transit (BRT) line in central Utah County, Utah, United States. The line is operated by the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) and runs between southwest Orem to south central Provo by way of Utah Valley University (UVU) and Brigham Young University (BYU). It began service with a soft opening on August 13, 2018 while the station platforms were being finished and was formally opened on January 9, 2019. It is the second of several BRT lines that UTA has or is planning in Utah County and the Salt Lake Valley. Bus rapid transit (BRT), also called a busway or transitway, is a bus-based public transport system designed to have much more capacity, reliability and other quality features than a conventional bus system. Typically, a BRT system includes roadways that are dedicated to buses, and gives priority to buses at intersections where buses may interact with other traffic; alongside design features to reduce delays caused by passengers boarding or leaving buses, or paying fares. Utah State Route 265
State Route 265 is a west–east thoroughfare completely within Utah County in northern Utah that cuts through Orem and Provo. Utah Valley University and Brigham Young University are in close proximity to SR-265. The entirety of the route is named University Parkway. Route description SR-265 begins at the intersection of Geneva Road ( SR-114) and University Parkway, heads due east on the latter as a four-lane highway. After crossing Interstate 15, the road widens to six lanes. As the highway passes Utah Valley University, it gains dedicated bus lanes in the median for the Utah Valley Express bus rapid transit system. It continues east for a short time until turning briefly southeast and then straightening out again, heading due east through Orem. TRAX is a light rail system in the Salt Lake Valley of Utah, in the United States, serving Salt Lake City and many of its suburbs throughout Salt Lake County.
