State Route 146 (SR-146) was a state highway in the U.S. state of Utah that connected the city of Pleasant Grove with SR-92 at the mouth of American Fork Canyon, some to the north in Utah County. Route description Route 146 started in Pleasant Grove at the intersection of 100 East and State Street US-89. Travelling north on 100 East, the route left Pleasant Grove, turned into Canyon Road, and traveled along the eastern foothills of Cedar Hills, Utah until it ended at the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway at the mouth of American Fork Canyon. Alpine Loop Scenic Byway
State Route 92 (SR-92), also known in various portions as the Timpanogos Highway, and Alpine Loop Scenic Highway is a scenic state highway in Utah County, Utah that runs from I-15/US-89 in Lehi to US-189 in Provo Canyon. The route is long and is the only road with access to Sundance Ski Resort and the Aspen Grove Family Camp and Conference Center. Route description The route begins at Ashton Boulevard in northwest Lehi. From its western terminus it heads east through Highland, and up American Fork Canyon, where it enters the Uinta National Forest. Shortly after entering the canyon, it passes the Timpanogos Cave National Monument, a famous group of caves buried in the side of the canyon. Uinta National Forest
Uinta National Forest is a national forest located in north central Utah, USA. It was originally part of the Uinta Forest Reserve, created by Grover Cleveland on 2 February 1897. The name is derived from the Ute word ''Yoov-we-teuh'' which means ''pine forest''. Because of changes to the boundaries over the years, the Uinta Mountains are now located in the Wasatch-Cache National Forest. American Fork Canyon
American Fork Canyon is a canyon in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, United States. The canyon is famous for the Timpanogos Cave National Monument, which resides on its south side. It is named after the American Fork River, which runs through the bottom of the canyon. The area is accessed by State Route 92, through what is officially called the "Alpine Loop Scenic Byway." Visitors entering American Fork Canyon from the west can follow SR-92 up the canyon to the summit of the Alpine Loop, down the east side of Mount Timpanogos, past Sundance Ski Resort and then out into Provo Canyon to the south.
