State Route 138 is a highway, completely within Tooele County in northern Utah that connects Grantsville to Erda and Stansbury Park. The route runs twenty miles (32 km) and is the old routing of U.S. Route 50 Alternate and U.S. Route 40. Route description From its western terminus at exit 84 of I-80, northeast of the Stansbury Mountains, the route heads southwest (toward the mountain range), reaching the mining operation of Flux, then turns southeasterly. Upon entering the western side of Grantsville, the highway heads east (serving as Grantsville's Main Street) and turns to the northeast after leaving the city. It runs northeasterly until terminating at Mills Junction north of Stansbury Park, at milepost 62.9 of Highway 36. State Route 112 (SR-112) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Utah. It is approximately long and connects Tooele and Grantsville in Tooele County. It also provides access to the Tooele Army Depot. Route description From its western terminus at SR-138 (Main Street) just east of Grantsville, the route starts out as 800 East, going south and quickly turns to the southeast. It continues in this direction for several miles meeting, and then running along the northeast boundary of the Tooele Army Depot. Grantsville, Utah
Grantsville is the second most populous city in Tooele County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Salt Lake City, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 12,617 at the 2020 census. The city has grown slowly and steadily throughout most of its existence, but rapid increases in growth occurred during the 1970s, 1990s, and 2010s. Recent rapid growth has been attributed to being close to Salt Lake City, small town community feel, lower housing costs than Salt Lake County, the nearby Deseret Peak recreational center, the Utah Motorsports Campus raceway, and the newly built Wal-Mart distribution center located just outside the city. Stansbury Mountains
The Stansbury Mountains are a long mountain range located in eastern Tooele County, Utah. It is named for U.S. Army Major Howard Stansbury, a topographical engineer, who led an expedition that surveyed the region. The range trends north–south, reaching from the southwest of the Great Salt Lake at Stansbury Bay into the region of the southeast Great Salt Lake Desert. Its southwest perimeter is adjacent to Dugway (and the Dugway Proving Ground), and along its western base lies Skull Valley, which trends north from Dugway. The south of the range contains the Deseret Peak Wilderness, with much of the range as part of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest.
