''Usher House'' is a 2014 opera by Gordon Getty to the composer's own libretto based on Edgar Allan Poe's 1839 short story "The Fall of the House of Usher". The staged world premiere of the opera took place in June 2014 at the Welsh National Opera and was later performed by the San Francisco Opera. Christian Elsner
Christian Elsner (born 11 August 1965) is a German tenor in opera and concert, and an academic voice teacher at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe. He focused first on lied and oratorio, then entered the opera stage in roles such as Handel's Tabarco and Mozart's Pedrillo. From 2007, he also performed roles such as Wagner's Siegmund and at international opera houses and festivals. Career Born in Freiburg im Breisgau, Elsner was a member of the boys' choir and later the cathedral choir at the Freiburg Minster, where he received first singing lessons with the American opera tenor Richard Riffel. Lawrence Foster
Lawrence Foster (born October 23, 1941) is an American conductor of Romanian ancestry. He is currently the artistic director and chief conductor of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra and the music director of the Marseille Opera and the . Early life Foster was born in Los Angeles, California, to Romanian parents. His father died when Foster was three years old. He was later adopted by his father-in-law which is why the last name is not traditionally Romanian.
