Uru (film)
''Uru'' () is a 2017 Tamil-language psychological thriller slasher film written and directed by Vicky Anand and Produced by V.P. Viji. The film stars Kalaiyarasan, Dhansika, and Mime Gopi. The soundtrack was composed by Johan Shevanesh with cinematography by Prasanna S. Kumar and editing by San Lokesh. It is inspired by the Hollywood films '' The Shining'', ''Secret Window'' and ''Hush''. The film released in India on 16 June 2017. Synopsis Jeevan, a famous fiction author, is distressed after his stories become outdated. To write a thriller, he visits a hill station where unexpectedly he gets entangled in a series of horrific events. Kalaiyarasan Harikrishnan is an Indian actor, who works in the Tamil film industry. He has collaborated with directors Myshkin and Pa. Ranjith, with whom he worked in ''Madras'' (2014) for which he received acclaim for his performance. Career Kalaiyarasan, a graduate in Computer Applications from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, initially began work as an actor with Parthy Bhaskar's '' Arjunan Kadhali'' in 2008, but the film remains unreleased. He then worked with director Myshkin on two ventures, ''Nandalala'' (2010) and ''Mugamoodi'' (2012), and credits the film maker as his mentor. Baradwaj Rangan is an Indian film critic, writer, and formerly the deputy editor of ''The Hindu''. He later became a senior editor of Film Companion. Sivamani (1 December 1959), commonly known by his stage name Drums Sivamani, is an Indian percussionist. He plays many instruments including drums, octoban, darbuka, udukai, ghatam and kanjira. He performed drumming during the IPL Championships in 2008 and 2010. He is affiliated with the Chennai Super Kings team, but gained recognition through his role as A. R. Rahman's lead percussionist.
