Urs Von Wartburg
Urs von Wartburg (born 1 March 1937) is a Swiss javelin thrower. He competed at five Olympics between 1960 and 1976 with the best achievement of fifth place in 1964. He is the fourth sportsperson to compete for Switzerland at five Olympics, after middle-distance runner Paul Martin and equestrians Henri Chammartin and Gustav Fischer. After retiring from senior competitions he had a long career in the javelin at European and world masters championships. Wangen bei Olten is a municipality in the district of Olten in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland. Minaret controversy The construction of a six-meter (20 ft) high minaret in Wangen in 2005 led to a constitutional ban on their construction on 29 November 2009. The contention involved the Turkish cultural association, which applied for a construction permit to erect a minaret on the roof of its Islamic community centre. The project faced opposition from surrounding residents, who formed a group to prevent the tower's erection. Paul Martin (athlete)
Paul-René Martin (11 August 1901 – 28 April 1987) was a Swiss middle-distance runner. He was the first Swiss sportsperson to compete at five Olympics, which he did from 1920 to 1936. At every Olympics he competed in the 800 m; he won a silver medal in 1924, behind Douglas Lowe, and failed to reach the final in other years. In 1928 and 1936 he also took part in the 1500 m event, and finished sixth in 1928. At the 1936 Games Martin also submitted an entry in the literature section of the art competition. Gustav Fischer (8 November 1915 – 22 November 1990) was a Swiss equestrian athlete who competed at five Summer Olympic Games, winning a total of five medals.
