Uro (trucks)
Uro (Both Galician and Spanish for "aurochs") is a Spanish brand of all-wheel-drive and military trucks, based in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia. The Uro parent company, Urovesa, was started in 1981 by a group of ex- IPV employees. They quickly established themselves as a leading player in the 4x4 rural fire-fighting and construction Spanish truck markets. From 1984 on, they became certified provider of the Spanish Army, which currently operates more of two thousand of Uro vehicles, including the well-known URO VAMTAC (Vehículo de Alta Movilidad Táctico / High Mobility Tactical Vehicle), equipped with a 190 hp Steyr diesel engine, while most of the other Uro ranges feature Iveco engines. The Spanish Army Uro VAMTACs have been instrumental in the performance of Spanish forces in international interventions in Afghanistan, Iraq and Lebanon. URO VAMTAC
The URO VAMTAC () is a Spanish four-wheel drive military vehicle manufactured by UROVESA. Externally it is similar in appearance and design to the Humvee of the United States Military due to similar requirements. More than 2,000 of the vehicles have been delivered to the Spanish Armed Forces. Several other countries operate the VAMTAC as well, and it has seen service most recently in Afghanistan and Syria. The vehicle comes in three models, named I3, S3 and ST5, and has several configurations. Castropol
Castropol is a municipality in Asturias, Spain. It is also the name of a parish within the municipality and a town within the parish. The municipality of Castropol has a population of 3696 (INE, 2014). It is bounded on the north by the Cantabrian Sea and on the west by a coastal inlet, or ''ria'', which separates it from the municipality of Ribadeo in Galicia, called the river Eo. Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) was the official name used synonymously by the U.S. government for both the War in Afghanistan (2001–2014) and the larger-scale Global War on Terrorism.
