Urban Retail Properties is a third-party retail management company based in Chicago. The company develops shopping complexes and other retail centers across the United States, in addition to help managing retail space development. The company partnered with Long Runn Urban Development Group in Shanghai in 2008. As of 2021 it owns over 50 shopping centers. A news article in 2003 described Urban Retail as "the nation’s largest third-party retail manager". History In 1984, Aetna sold Urban Investment and Development Corporation of Chicago, to JMB Real Estate Group, for $1.4 billion. In 1993, JMB spun off its retail properties into Urban Shopping Centers, and was traded on NYSE and CSE under "URB". In 2000, Urban was purchased by Rodamco North America. Franklin Park Mall is a shopping mall in Toledo, Ohio. The anchor stores are Dillard's, Macy's, Dick's Sporting Goods, Forever 21, DSW, and JCPenney. History Developed by The Rouse Company, the mall opened on July 22, 1971, occupying the former site of the Franklin Airport. The mall was built using the Syncon modular building subsystems for an estimated savings of $500,000. When the mall opened, its original anchor stores were Hudson's, J. C. Penney, and local department store Lamson Brothers. The mall comprised about 75 stores in of floor space, with the J. C. Penney anchor being one of the largest in the chain at the time. Mall concourses featured sunken courts before the entrance to each department store, skylights, and a mobile constructed by Alexander Calder in front of the Hudson's entrance. Fox Valley Mall, formerly Westfield Fox Valley, is a shopping mall in Aurora, Illinois. The mall's anchor stores are JCPenney, Macy's. Some larger non anchor stores include H&M and Forever 21. Westfield Countryside
Countryside Mall (formerly Westfield Countryside) is a shopping mall in Clearwater, Florida. Situated near the coastline on the Gulf Coast, it serves over 9 million customers every year, and is home to five anchor stores, a 12-screen Cobb Theatres, numerous restaurants, and a full-size ice skating rink. History Countryside Mall opened on September 8, 1975. Opening anchors included Maas Brothers and Sears, with JCPenney and J. W. Robinson's opening a year later. Citrus Park Town Center, previously Westfield Citrus Park, is a shopping mall in Citrus Park, Florida. The anchor stores are Dillard's, JCPenney, Macy's, Regal Cinemas, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Elev8 Fun. Sears formerly occupied the space now occupied by Elev8 Fun. Foothills Mall is an indoor regional shopping mall located in Maryville, Tennessee. Foothills Mall features approximately 70 stores and restaurants. Adjacent to the mall is the Foothills Plaza complex which includes several additional restaurants and a Kroger. Opened in 1983, Foothills Mall is the only shopping mall in suburban Blount County, part of the Knoxville Metropolitan Area. The mall was originally anchored by Maryville-based Proffitt's, a regional department store; Miller's, another regional department store that was a division of Allied Stores; JCPenney; and Sears, which closed in February 2019.
