Urban Legend (musicians)
Urban Legend is a Latin-American production team duo consisting of J-Radical & Kool Kojak. Their first CD “Tranquilidad Cubana”, was released in 2006, it earned them 4 top 5 singles on the CMJ world charts. In 2010 they released their second CD “Tropical Techniques”, which was released on January 4; the album features guest appearances from Debi Nova, Destani Wolf, La Bruja, Chana, Marthin "Chino" Chan among others. The duo found a record label called "Blind Lemon Music", in which they have released both albums. Bossa Nova
Bossa nova () is a style of samba developed in the late 1950s and early 1960s in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is mainly characterized by a "different beat" that altered the harmonies with the introduction of unconventional chords and an innovative syncopation of traditional samba from a single rhythmic division. The "bossa nova beat" is characteristic of a samba style and not of an autonomous genre. According to the Brazilian journalist Ruy Castro, the bossa beat – which was created by the drummer Milton Banana – was "an extreme simplification of the beat of the samba school", as if all instruments had been removed and only the tamborim had been preserved. MTV3 ( fi, MTV Kolme, sv, MTV Tre) is a Finnish commercial television station. It had the biggest audience share of all Finnish TV channels until Yle TV1 (from Yle) took the lead. Caridad de la Luz (born January 21, 1977), a.k.a. "La Bruja" (''The "Good" Witch''), is a Nuyorican (a New York-born Puerto Rican) poet, playwright, actor, actress and activist. She is considered one of the leading spoken word poets in the world. In 2005, ''El Diario La Prensa'', the largest Spanish-language newspaper in New York City, named De la Luz as one of the "Fifty Most Distinguished Latinas in the United States". Jared Faber (also known as J-Radical) is an American musician, composer, and producer who works primarily in television and film. He composed the theme songs for '' Oobi'', '' As Told by Ginger'', ''Emily's Reasons Why Not'', and '' Suburgatory''. He has won multiple Grammy Awards and been nominated for an Emmy Award. Reggae Fusion
Reggae fusion is a genre of reggae that mixes reggae and/or dancehall with other genres, such as pop, rock, hip hop, R&B, jazz, funk, soul, disco, electronic and latin. Origin Although artists have been mixing reggae with other genres from as early as the early 1970s, no official term had been used to describe this practice. Artists such as UB40 were described using terms that joined the various genres they performed (e.g. "reggae funk", "reggae pop", "reggae-disco"). It was not until the late 1990s when the term was coined. Latin music (Portuguese and es, música latina) is a term used by the music industry as a catch-all category for various styles of music from Ibero-America (including Spain and Portugal) and the Latino United States inspired by Latin American, Spanish and Portuguese music genres, as well as music that is sung in either Spanish and/or Portuguese.
