Upper Westside, Atlanta
Upper Westside is a colloquial area, comprising many historical neighborhoods located in Atlanta, Georgia. The neighborhood is located in the northwestern sector of Atlanta, west of I-75 and inside I-285, to the south of Vinings and to the west of Buckhead. It was developed in the 19th century as an industrial hub. Bolton, Riverside, and Whittier Mill Village are the largest neighborhoods comprising the district. Upper West Side
The Upper West Side (UWS) is a neighborhood in the borough of Manhattan in New York City. It is bounded by Central Park on the east, the Hudson River on the west, West 59th Street to the south, and West 110th Street to the north. Riverside is an intown neighborhood located on the Upper Westside of Atlanta. It is so named because it is situated along the Chattahoochee River. Geography Riverside is bordered by the Chattahoochee River to the north, Jackson Parkway to the west, Southern Railway train tracks to the south and Paul Avenue to the east. Whittier Mill Village
Whittier Mill Village, originally Chattahoochee, a recognized neighborhood of Atlanta on the Upper Westside of Atlanta. It is roughly contiguous with the Whittier Mills Historic District, both locally- and NRHP-listed. The mill and the adjacent village were founded in 1895. The Works (mixed-use Development)
The Works (also known originally as the Works at Chattahoochee) is a partially completed mixed-use development on the Upper Westside of Atlanta. It is being developed by Selig Development and will consist of 40 buildings, including several historic structures. As of 2020, the project is undergoing its first phase of construction, which will see developed. History Selig Developments, a subsidiary of Selig Enterprises, announced the development on August 11, 2017. The project would see the reconversion of 40 buildings on property in Atlanta's Upper Westside owned by Selig, which had accumulated much of the area over 50 years, which would be completed in phases over the course of five to ten years. The master plan called for several acres of greenspaces, 500,000 square feet of retail, 600,000 square feet of office space, a residential area, and a boutique hotel.
