''UpTight'' is a soundtrack album by Southern soul band Booker T. & the M.G.'s for the film of the same title. The album features " Time Is Tight", the single version of which became a US Top 10 hit (the second biggest of their career) and a signature song for the band. Recording The version of "Time Is Tight" included on the ''Up Tight'' soundtrack album is an alternate recording, which differs from the single version in several respects: it is in stereo, it is played at a faster tempo, it runs almost two minutes longer (4'55"), and it includes both an extended introduction and an instrumental "breakdown" (beginning around 3'30"), neither of which are in the single version. ''The World's Most Dangerous Party'' was Paul Shaffer's second album, released as a double CD in July 1993. Assembled as if Paul and his band were playing live at a house party, the album features the voices -- but not necessarily singing -- of many celebrities and recording artists like David Letterman, Tony Bennett, George Clinton, Joan Jett, Phil Spector, Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, Jon Lovitz, Richard Belzer and Joe Walsh. As the 'live' music is being played, these celebrities are generally heard within happy chattering crowd noise as if they're at a crowded party, listening to the band play and kibitzing with each other and with Paul. All songs on the album are covers and most are instrumental, similar to the versions played by Paul Shaffer and his band on David Letterman's late night talk shows. Paul Allen Wood Shaffer (born November 28, 1949) is a Canadian singer, composer, actor, author, comedian, and multi-instrumentalist who served as David Letterman's musical director, band leader, and sidekick on the entire run of both '' Late Night with David Letterman'' (1982–1993) and '' Late Show with David Letterman'' (1993–2015). ''Super Black Market Clash'' is a 1993 compilation album released by the English punk rock band The Clash. It contains B-sides and rare tracks not available on the group's regular studio albums. The Clash
The Clash were an English rock band formed in London in 1976 who were key players in the original wave of British punk rock. Billed as "The Only Band That Matters", they also contributed to the and new wave movements that emerged in the wake of punk and employed elements of a variety of genres including reggae, dub, funk, ska, and rockabilly. For most of their recording career, the Clash consisted of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Joe Strummer, lead guitarist and vocalist Mick Jones, bassist Paul Simonon, and drummer Nicky "Topper" Headon. Headon left the group in 1982 due to internal friction surrounding his increasing heroin addiction. Further internal friction led to Jones' departure the following year.
