''Unknown Opponent'' (Hungarian: ''Ismeretlen ellenfél'') is a 1940 Hungarian spy thriller film directed by Endre Rodríguez and starring Erzsi Simor, Andor Ajtay and Karola Zala. Rîpeanu p.196 It was shot at the Hunnia Studios in Budapest. The film's sets were designed by the art director Miklós Velits. Synopsis A foreign power interested in a new Hungarian prototype aircraft recruit Adrienne to steal the plans, but she falls for László the engineer behind the new design. Endre Rodríguez
Endre Rodríguez (1899–1975) was a Hungarian screenwriter and film director. Vilmos p.206 After service in the Austro-Hungarian Army during the First World War, he became a professional stage actor. During the silent era he first became interested in film, and emerged as a prominent director during the late 1930s and wartime Hungary. After 1944 he made educational and documentary films, and fled abroad after the failed Hungarian Revolution of 1956, settling in Munich in West Germany. Árpád Latabár
Árpád (; 845 – 907) was the head of the confederation of the Magyar tribes at the turn of the 9th and 10th centuries. He might have been either the sacred ruler or '' kende'' of the Hungarians, or their military leader or '' gyula'', although most details of his life are debated by historians, because different sources contain contradictory information. Despite this, many Hungarians refer to him as the "founder of our country", and Árpád's preeminent role in the Hungarian conquest of the Carpathian Basin has been emphasized by some later chronicles.
