University Of Toliara
The University of Toliara is historically the oldest center for higher education, founded in 1971 after the decentralization of the University of Madagascar center. The university campus is located in Maninday 5 km east of the city of Toliara, the capital of Atsimo-Andrefana on the southwest side of Madagascar. This university teaches Humanities and Social Science, Science, Philosophy, and Management (the latter located next to the Cedratom). The university operates the CEDRATOM Museum. Toliara
Toliara (also known as ''Toliary'', ; formerly ''Tuléar'') is a city in Madagascar. It is the capital of the Atsimo-Andrefana region, located 936 km southwest of national capital Antananarivo. The current spelling of the name was adopted in the 1970s, reflecting the orthography of the Malagasy language. Many geographic place names, assigned French spellings during the colonial period, were altered following Malagasy independence in 1960. The city has a population of 168,758 in 2018. As a port town it acts as a major import/export hub for commodities such as sisal, soap, hemp, cotton, rice and peanuts. Mitsinjo Betanimena is a municipality and a quarter of Toliara (Tuléar) in Madagascar. It belongs to the district of Toliara II, which is a part of Atsimo-Andrefana Region. University Of Madagascar
The University of Madagascar was the former name of the centralized public university system in Madagascar, although the original branch in Antananarivo is still sometimes called by that name. The system traces its history to 16 December 1955, and the formation of the Institute for Advanced Studies in the capital Antananarivo. It quickly established itself as the main center for higher education in the country, and was renamed the University of Madagascar in 1961. The main branch opened five more branches in Antsiranana, Fianarantsoa, Toamasina, Toliara, and Mahajanga. In 1988, all branches of the system became independent of each other, and the name University of Madagascar was dropped in favor of more geography-specific titles. Samoela Jaona Ranarivelo
Ranarivelo Samoela Jaona (born 25 January 1962) is the current Malagasy Anglican bishop of the Diocese of Antananarivo. He was consecrated on the 29 June 2008 at the cathedral of Saint Laurent's in Ambohimanoro, and is the fourth bishop of Antananarivo. He currently chairs the central office of the Eklesia Episkopaly Malagasy (Malagasy Episcopal Church) that unites the Anglican dioceses in Madagascar. The Diocese of Antananarivo is within the Anglican Church of the Indian Ocean Province. Ranarivelo was educated at thEcole Supérieure Polytechnique Antsirananaand Vontovorona.
