University Of San Carlos Stadium
The University of San Carlos Stadium is a football stadium under construction in Cebu City, Philippines. It is located within the grounds of the Talamban campus of the University of San Carlos which operates and own the facility. Construction Works on building the stadium began as early as 2005. Two hills were carved as part of the stadium earthworks which was finished by 2011. A dam was built beside the dam to augment the stadium's field. Ike Madamba was hired by the university as the stadium's architect, who also led the renovation of the Rizal Memorial Stadium. It was planned to be completed by 2012. By April 2017, the stadium's construction is still not complete. Global Cebu F.C. which was then considering the stadium as their home venue as part of the Philippines Football League to provide funds for the stadium's completion. The University of San Carlos, also referred to by its acronym USC or colloquially shortened to San Carlos, is a private, Catholic, research, coeducational basic and higher education institution administered by the Philippine Southern Province of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) missionaries in Cebu City, Philippines since 1935. It offers basic education (Montessori academy, grade school, junior high school and senior high school) and higher education (undergraduate and graduate studies). Founded originally in 1595 as Colegio de San Ildefonso, it later became the Colegio-Seminario de San Carlos in 1783 and finally obtained university charter in 1948. The Philippines Football League, commonly known as PFL, is a Filipino professional football league sanctioned by the Philippine Football Federation (PFF). It is the Philippines' highest level of men's club football, supplanting the United Football League (UFL), which was previously the ''de facto'' top-tier league in the country. Cebu City Sports Complex
The Cebu City Sports Center, formerly called as Abellana Sports Complex is a track and field and football stadium located in Cebu City, Philippines. The complex was built by the city to serve as the main venue for the 1994 Palarong Pambansa and accommodate large events of various kinds. It is owned and managed by the Cebu City government. A number of major events have taken place at the Complex, including concerts, sports events, governmental activities, and the Sinulog Festival, which is held there every year.
