University Station (Calgary)
University station is a CTrain light rail station on the Northwest Line (Route 201) in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, opened on September 7, 1987 as the part of the original line's terminus station until August 30, 1990. The station is located in the median of Crowchild Trail, just north of 24 Avenue NW and east of the University of Calgary grounds. The station is connected by bridges to both sides of Crowchild Trail, and two sets of stairs and an elevator provide access to the platform. In addition to the University of Calgary, the station is another LRT station adjacent to Banff Trail. One of the busiest stations on the line, experiencing a high volume of traffic from students at the University of Calgary, and nearby William Aberhart High School. Universitetet (Swedish: "the university") is a railway station in Stockholm along the Roslagsbanan, named for nearby Stockholm University. The present station was inaugurated on 7 January 2010, replacing the older station by the same name which had been closed for service since 14 June 2009. The closest station to the north, Frescati, was also closed at this time, and will not open again. University Park is a station on Metra's Metra Electric District line located in University Park, Illinois. University Park is the southern terminus of the Metra Electric main line and is away from the northern terminus at Millennium Station. University Station (Buffalo Metro Rail)
University (formerly South Campus until September 1, 2003) is a Buffalo Metro Rail station located near the intersection of Main Street and Niagara Falls Boulevard on the University at Buffalo South Campus. It is a major transfer point between Metro Rail and many city and suburban bus routes and offers a unique "Kiss and Ride" facility on the top level, above the mezzanine. This allows drivers of automobiles a separate area to drop off passengers, so they do not add to the traffic congestion from buses at the station during rush-hour periods and a large park-and-ride facility directly to the east of the station. The station is located at 5400 Ponce de Leon Boulevard at the intersection of Dixie Highway ( US 1) and Mariposa Court. The Produce Terminal Cold Storage Company Building is a historic refrigerated warehouse at 1550 South Blue Island Avenue in the Near West Side neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Built in 1928–29, the warehouse was the largest cold storage facility in Chicago when it opened. As Chicago was a major shipping and transportation hub, refrigerated storage played a key role in preserving perishable goods so they could be sold year-round. Architects H. Peter Henschien, a renowned designer of refrigerated facilities, and Robert J. McLaren designed the Art Deco building.
