University Square, Bucharest
University Square () is located in downtown Bucharest, near the University of Bucharest. It is served by Universitate metro station. Four statues can be found in the University Square, in front of the university; they depict Ion Heliade Rădulescu (1879), Michael the Brave (1874), Gheorghe Lazăr (1889) and Spiru Haret (1932). The Ion Luca Caragiale Bucharest National Theatre and the Intercontinental Hotel (one of the tallest buildings in Bucharest) are also located near University Square. University Square marks the northeastern boundary of the Old Center of Bucharest. Since the end of 2014, after a project costing up to 65 million euros, the National Theatre has a new face, dominated by futuristic elements. 2011 Yemeni Protests
The Yemeni Revolution (intifada), also known as the Yemeni Revolution of Dignity followed the initial stages of the Tunisian Revolution and occurred simultaneously with the Egyptian Revolution of 2011 and other Arab Spring protests in the Middle East and North Africa. In its early phase, protests in Yemen were initially against unemployment, economic conditions and corruption, as well as against the government's proposals to modify Yemen's constitution. The protesters' demands then escalated to calls for the resignation of Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh. Mass defections from the military, as well as from Saleh's government, effectively rendered much of the country outside of the government's control, and protesters vowed to defy its authority. A major demonstration of over 16,000 protesters took place in Sanaʽa, Yemen's capital, on 27 January. University City (UC) is a community in San Diego, California, located in the northwestern portion of the city next to the University of California, San Diego. University City is bordered by La Jolla and Interstate 5 to the west, Miramar and Interstate 805 to the east, and North Clairemont and Highway 52 to the south, giving the community a triangular-shaped boundary. University Square (Madison)
University Square Madison is a urban infill development in the City of Madison, Wisconsin. The planning for the University Square Project was started in 1999 by Greg Rice, owner of Executive Management, Inc. Greg chose Potter Lawson, Inc., in 1999 as the architect for the project. After years of planning, construction began on June 2, 2006 and was completed in August, 2008. The developer and majority owner of the project is Executive Management, Inc, a Madison based development firm, with Steve Brown Apartments and the University of Wisconsin as part owners. University Square consists of three main parts: a 2-story retail mall owned by Executive Management, Inc; a 10-story apartment tower, Lucky, owned by Steve Brown Apartments; and a 9-story office tower owned by the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
