The Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Management is an online interdisciplinary sustainable management bachelor's degree program. A joint effort between the University of Wisconsin–Extension and four of the University of Wisconsin campuses, UW–Parkside, UW–River Falls, UW–Stout, and UW–Superior, the program began enrolling students for the fall 2009 semester. About The Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Management is a fully accredited bachelor's degree completion program. The program was approved by the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents, and is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The University of Wisconsin–Extension (UW–Extension) was the outreach arm of the University of Wisconsin System. The University of Wisconsin–Superior (UW–Superior or UWS) is a public liberal arts university in Superior, Wisconsin. UW–Superior grants associate, bachelor's, master's and specialist's degrees. A carbon credit is a generic term for any tradable certificate or permit representing the right to emit a set amount of carbon dioxide or the equivalent amount of a different greenhouse gas (tCO2e). Carbon credits and carbon markets are a component of national and international attempts to mitigate the growth in concentrations of greenhouse gases (GHGs). One carbon credit is equal to one tonne of carbon dioxide, or in some markets, carbon dioxide equivalent gases. Carbon trading is an application of an emissions trading approach. Greenhouse gas emissions are capped and then markets are used to allocate the emissions among the group of regulated sources.
