University Of Waterloo School Of Pharmacy
The School of Pharmacy is a professional school of the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, within the Faculty of Science. It was previously housed in Faculty of Science buildings on the main university campus in Waterloo, but was re-located to a new $34 million building on the university's Health Sciences Campus in downtown Kitchener in 2008. It is the only pharmacy school in Canada that offers co-operative education. It was designed by Siamak Hariri of Hariri Pontarini Architects and Robbie/Young + Wright Architects of Toronto, Ontario in 2008. The building facade features wood, brick, stone, COR-TEN steel while the glass windows feature images, painted by artist Sky Glabush, of common plants used in the historical development of pharmaceuticals. The Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA), previously known as the Canadian Pharmaceutical Association, is an organization that serves as the professional association of Canadian pharmacists and pharmacy students. Kelly Grindrod
Kelly Grindrod is a Canadian pharmacist and associate professor at the University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy where she studies the impact of digital technology on the management of medications. Education Grindrod graduated with a BSCPharm from the University of Alberta and went on to complete a residency at the London Health Sciences Centre. She later received a PharmD (2007) and an MSc (2009) from the University of British Columbia. Career Grindrod joined the University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy in 2011. In addition to teaching and research, she works one day a week at the Kitchener Downtown Community Health Centre as a primary care pharmacist. Weathering steel, often referred to by the genericised trademark COR-TEN steel and sometimes written without the hyphen as corten steel, is a group of steel alloys which were developed to eliminate the need for painting, and form a stable rust-like appearance after several years' exposure to weather. U.S. Steel (USS) holds the registered trademark on the name COR-TEN. The name COR-TEN refers to the two distinguishing properties of this type of steel: corrosion resistance and tensile strength. Although USS sold its discrete plate business to International Steel Group (now ArcelorMittal) in 2003, it still sells COR-TEN branded material in strip-mill plate and sheet forms. The Faculty of Science is one of six faculties at the University of Waterloo. Established in 1959, the Faculty has grown and is now an internationally recognized research leader. Siamak Hariri, OAA, AAA, AIBC, FRAIC, RCA, Intl. Assoc. AIA (born 1958) is a Canadian architect and a founding partner of Hariri Pontarini Architects, a full-service architectural and interior design practice based in Toronto, Canada.
