University Of Maribor
The University of Maribor ( sl, Univerza v Mariboru) is Slovenia's second-largest university, established in 1975 in Maribor, Slovenia. It currently has 17 faculties. History The university's roots reach back to 1859, when a theological seminary was established with the encouragement of Maribor bishop and patriot Anton Martin Slomšek. More faculties were established during the late 1950s and early 1960s; the faculties of economics, business, and technology in 1959, agronomy and law in 1960, and pedagogy in 1961. The university's opening ceremony occurred on 19 September 1975. 1970s was a decade of exponential rise in number of higher education institutions in the former Yugoslavia when alongside Maribor universities in Osijek, Rijeka, Split, Mostar, Podgorica, Bitola, Banja Luka, Kragujevac and Tuzla all opened their doors. Faculty Of Law Maribor
The Faculty of Law ( sl, Pravna fakulteta, PF) in Maribor is a member of the University of Maribor. It was founded in 1960 as a higher law school for education of lawyers in commercial entities. In 1990 it was re-established as a high law school in Maribor with a programme for education of lawyers of universal profile. Since 1993 its official name is Faculty of Law. In 2009 it started with internationally comparable Bologna programmes. Research The research priority of the Faculty of Law is "Legal Aspects of the Digital Economy". The research work at the Faculty of Law is organised within applied research institutes and a research group at the faculty level. The research group is publicly financed by Slovenian Research Agency. Ljubljana
Ljubljana (also known by other historical names) is the capital and largest city of Slovenia. It is the country's cultural, educational, economic, political and administrative center. During antiquity, a Roman city called Emona stood in the area. Ljubljana itself was first mentioned in the first half of the 12th century. Situated at the middle of a trade route between the northern Adriatic Sea and the Danube region, it was the historical capital of Carniola, one of the Slovene-inhabited parts of the Habsburg monarchy.
