University Of La Réunion
The University of Reunion Island (''Université de la Réunion'') is a French university in the Academy of Réunion. It is the first and only European university in the Indian Ocean. Established in 1982, it has grown steadily over the years in terms of student population, geographical sites occupied, courses offered and partnerships forged with local, national and international institutions. The school's ambition is to be the reference university in Indianoceania. The University has 123 ERASMUS+ inter-institutional agreements. Its European project EVAL-IC (Evaluation of Competences in Intercomprehension) has been awarded the "good practice" label by the Erasmus+ France Agency, given to projects that present "high quality implementation and results". Johnson Roussety is the current Chief Commissioner of Rodrigues in Mauritius. He held the same position from 4 August 2006 until 7 January 2011. Early life and education Roussety was born on 27 August 1975. He attended Oysterbay Government School in Rodrigues as well as Grand Bay and NicolayGovt Schools in Mauritius. He studied up to HSC at the Rodrigues College in Port Mathurin from 1987 to 1993. Ericka Bareigts (; born 16 April 1967) is a French politician of the Socialist Party (PS) who served as Minister of Overseas France in the governments of successive Prime Minister Manuel Valls and Bernard Cazeneuve from 30 August 2016 to 10 May 2017. Jean-Régis Ramsamy was born in Saint-André in Reunion Island (France), on April 16, 1966. He now is a reporter, historian and a writer. He was an anchorman on RFO (lately :fr:Réunion 1re (télévision)). Background He is the son of ''Antonin Ramsamy'' and of ''Norma Sévingué''. His father was the last Reunionese jeweler from a Tamil line called ''Vishwakarma'' or ''Patair''. Philippe Naillet (born 14 August 1960 in Saint-Denis, Reunion) is a French politician.
