The Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen University of Applied Sciences (German: ''Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen'', or THM) is a German Fachhochschule for bachelor's and master's studies in the cities of Giessen, Friedberg, and Wetzlar. History Giessen The University of Applied Sciences of Central Hesse (Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM)) traces back to Giessen. On the 14 January 1838 by the National Trade Association Darmstadt, Giessen "school for technical drawing" was founded ("Schule für technisches Zeichnen"). This led to the founding of this school were widespread complaints that artisans could not read and understand the plans of the architects were fostered. Just four weeks into Darmstadt on December 1837 the trade school was founded, the predecessor of today's TU Darmstadt (Technische Universität Darmstadt). Frankenberg, Hesse
Frankenberg an der Eder is a town in Waldeck-Frankenberg district, Hesse, Germany. The mountain at a ford over the Eder north of the Burgwald range was for a long time a fortified place, playing an especially important role under the Franks in the Saxon Wars. The town was built in 1233-1234 by the Thuringian Landgrave at the junction of two trade routes. The renovated Old and New Town have many half-timbered houses. In 2018 the town adopted the additional name "Philipp Soldan Stadt". Geography Frankenberg lies between the Burgwald range in the south and the Breite Struth (hills) in the northwest, where the river Nemphe empties into the Eder. Bad Wildungen is a state-run spa and a small town in Waldeck-Frankenberg district in Hesse, Germany. It is located on the German Timber-Frame Road. Geography Location Bad Wildungen lies in the eastern foothills of the Kellerwald range in the so-called ''Waldeck'' holiday region, 11 km west of Fritzlar, and 35 km southwest of Kassel. The town, which spreads out east of the Homberg, is crossed by the river Wilde, which empties into the Eder at the constituent community of Wega. The constituent communities of Wega and Mandern lie on the Eder, on which also lies the Edersee, a reservoir lying only about 10 km northwest (in a straight line) of the main town of Bad Wildungen. The festival and spa town of Bad Hersfeld (''Bad'' is "spa" in German; the Old High German name of the city was ''Herolfisfeld'') is the district seat of the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in northeastern Hesse, Germany, roughly 50 km southeast of Kassel. Bad Hersfeld is known countrywide above all for the ''Bad Hersfelder Festspiele'' (festival), which have taken place each year since 1951 at the monastery ruins.
