University High School (Waco, Texas)
University High School is a public high school located in the city of Waco, Texas, part of Waco Independent School District and classified as a 5A school by the University Interscholastic League. It is one of two public high schools in Waco ISD, the other being Waco High School. Originally named Waco Technical High School when it opened on Bagby Avenue in 1946, its name was changed in 1954. In 2008, citizens voted to approve a bond issue to build a new University campus, which opened for the 2011 school year. In the fall of 2012, it absorbed the district magnet school A.J. Moore Academy as a separate unit on its campus, with a full merger between the two in the 2013 school year. The career-track academies continue to bear the A.J. Moore name within University High. In 2015, the school was rated " Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency. Walnut High School is a public high school located at Walnut, California, among the San Jose Hills of the San Gabriel Valley in Southern California. Ranked in the top 100 high schools in America by the Daily Beast Publication, Walnut High School is also located within the prestigious Walnut Valley Unified School District, which has also been ranked by numerous sources to be one of the top public school districts in all of Southern California. Juliana Yendork
Juliana Yendork (born 29 August 1972) is a retired Ghanaian American long jumper and triple jumper. She won the gold medal at the 1988 African Championships. That year she also competed at the 1988 Olympic Games, one month before her 16th birthday to fulfill the dream of her father, Charles who had been denied the opportunity to compete in the 1976 Olympic Games by the hastily called African boycott. Her personal best jump was 6.32 metres, achieved in June 1989 in Schwechat. She later became an American citizen, and focused on the triple jump, setting a career best of 13.42 metres in May 1991 in Norwalk in the qualification round of the CIF California State Meet while still at Walnut High School. LaDainian Tarshane Tomlinson (born June 23, 1979) is a former American football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 11 seasons. After a successful college career with the TCU Horned Frogs, the San Diego Chargers selected him as the fifth overall pick in the 2001 NFL Draft. He spent nine years with the Chargers, earning five Pro Bowl appearances, three Associated Press first-team All-Pro nominations, and two NFL rushing titles. Tomlinson was also voted NFL MVP in 2006 after breaking the record for touchdowns in a single season. He played two further seasons with the New York Jets, before retiring. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017. A native of Rosebud, Texas, Tomlinson showed athletic promise while attending University High School in Waco.
