University High School (UHS) is an accelerated public high school located in Tucson, Arizona. Originally known as ''Special Projects High School'' (SPHS), University High School is in the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD). The mission statement of UHS identifies it as "a special function high school which serves students who are academically focused and intellectually gifted and provides curriculum and social support not offered in the comprehensive high school." Kaiser Kuo (; born March 7, 1966) is a Chinese American freelance writer and musician. Career Kaiser previously worked as director for international communications for Chinese search engine Baidu. Before that he was a technology correspondent for '' Red Herring'' magazine, and also worked as director of digital strategy, China, for Ogilvy & Mather in Beijing. Gifted education (also known as gifted and talented education (GATE), talented and gifted programs (TAG), or G/T education) is a broad group of special practices, procedures, and theories used in the education of children who have been identified as gifted or talented. Jessica Grace Wing (July 24, 1971 – July 19, 2003) was an American theatrical composer active in New York City. She was resident composer of the off-Broadway Inverse Theater Company and wrote one full-length musical, ''Lost''. Wing was born in New Haven, Connecticut and grew up in Tucson, Arizona, where she attended University High School. She attended college at Stanford University. In 1997 she moved to New York City, where she co-founded the Inverse Theater Company. Her musical accompaniments incorporated a diverse range from bluegrass to opera. Michael Thompson (golfer)
} Michael Hayes Thompson (born April 16, 1985) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. He has won two tournaments on the PGA Tour, with the most recent one coming at the 2020 3M Open. Amateur career Thompson attended University High School in Tucson, Arizona from 1999 to 2003. While there he won the Class 4A state team championship in 2003, and was named the Arizona High School State Player of the Year in 2002 and 2003. Thompson attended Tulane University two seasons until they disbanded their golf team after Hurricane Katrina. Thompson then transferred to the University of Alabama. While playing on Alabama's golf team, Thompson was the 2008 SEC Player of the Year. Thompson was a finalist in the 2007 U.S. Amateur, but was defeated by Colt Knost 2 & 1. Timothy Reckart
Timothy Reckart is an American animator and director based in Los Angeles, specializing in puppet stop motion. He is best known for his 2012 film ''Head over Heels'', nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 2013. Reckart grew up in Tucson, Arizona, where he attended University High School. He studied History and Literature at Harvard University where he graduated in 2009.
