Universidad Station (MedellÃn)
Universidad is the seventh station on line A of the MedellÃn Metro. It is located in the eastern part of MedellÃn. The station is located in an area of great academic, cultural and scientific importance and a site of great confluence of routes to different parts of the city because its proximity to the University of Antioquia and metropolitan areas such the Botanical Garden of MedellÃn and Barefoot Park. The station was opened on 30 November 1995 as part of the inaugural section of line A, from NiquÃa station, NiquÃa to Poblado station, Poblado. Description The station has a pedestrian bridge leading to the eastern entrance of the University City Main Campus of the University of Antioquia, one of the most important centers of higher education in the country, with an influx of more than 45,000 students and teachers. MedellÃn

MedellÃn Metro
The MedellÃn Metro (Spanish: ''Metro de MedellÃn'') is a rapid transit system that crosses the Metropolitan Area of MedellÃn from North to South and from Centre to West. It first opened for service on 30 November 1995. As one of the first implementations of modern mass transportation in Colombia and the only metro system in the country, the MedellÃn Metro is a product of the urban planning of the Antioquia department of Colombia. Botanical Garden Of MedellÃn
The Joaquin Antonio Uribe Botanical Garden of MedellÃn ( es, Joaquin Antonio Uribe JardÃn Botánico de MedellÃn), more simply known as the Botanical Garden of MedellÃn, is a 14-hectare botanical garden in MedellÃn, Colombia. The botanical garden has 4,500 flowers and 139 recorded bird species. It has an important collection of orchids preserved in an architectural space called the "Orchideorama". Description The entrance pavilion to the botanical garden was designed by Lorenzo Castro and Ana Elvira Vélez. The garden includes a butterfly house, cactus garden, exhibition spaces, library, and pond. Barefoot Park
Barefoot Park ( es, Parque de los Pies Descalzos) is a zen-inspired public park in MedellÃn, Colombia. The park was funded by EPM and designed by architect Felipe Uribe de Bedout. The park includes a green area with gardens and bamboo, a sand area, and an area with water fountains. As suggested by its name, the park is playful in nature. Children and adults are encouraged to play in the park barefoot. The Barefoot Park was created between 1998 and 2000. The Jesús Emilio RamÃrez González Planetarium of MedellÃn ( es, Planetario MedellÃn de Jesús Emilio RamÃrez González) is a planetarium located in MedellÃn, Colombia and established on October 10, 1984. Parque Explora is an interactive science museum in MedellÃn, Colombia, loosely modeled after San Francisco's Exploratorium. It houses South America's largest freshwater aquarium, Explora Aquarium. The museum contains over 300 interactive attractions, as well as a 3D auditorium, planetarium, television studio, and vivarium. The museum opened in 2008.
