Unity (comics)
Unity is an 18-issue fictional crossover, crossover story published by Valiant Comics in the summer of 1992 in comics, 1992. It was conceived by Valiant's Editor-in-Chief, Jim Shooter, who wanted to revolutionize the crossover concept in comics. The ''Unity'' story was serialized in all nine of the Valiant Universe comic book titles published from August to September 1992 and set up several spin-off titles. In 2012, several years after Valiant had ceased publishing comic books, they restarted their continuity and the name was repurposed for the superhero team Unity (Team), Unity. Valiant Comics
Valiant Comics is an American comic book publisher. The company was founded in 1989 by former Marvel Comics editor-in-chief Jim Shooter along with lawyer and businessman Steven Massarsky. In 1994, the company was sold to Acclaim Entertainment. The company was restarted as part of Valiant Entertainment by entrepreneurs Dinesh Shamdasani and Jason Kothari in 2005 after Acclaim declared bankruptcy in 2004. Valiant Entertainment launched its publishing division in 2012 as part of an initiative dubbed the "Summer of Valiant", winning Publisher of the Year and being nominated for Book of the Year at the Diamond Gem Awards. Valiant has set sales records, and was the most nominated publisher in comics at the 2014, 2015 and 2016 Harvey Awards, releasing the biggest-selling independent crossover event of the decade with "Book of Death" in 2015. Archer & Armstrong
''Archer & Armstrong'' is a superhero duo in the Valiant Comics universe. The two were originally created by writer and artist Barry Windsor-Smith and introduced in their own self-titled comic book series in 1992. After Acclaim Entertainment bought Valiant Comics in 1996, the two characters were rebooted in a series of one-shot comics entitled ''Eternal Warriors''. Eternal Warrior
Gilad Anni-Padda, also known as the Eternal Warrior, is a List of Valiant Comics characters, character/Superhero published by Valiant Comics and originally created by Jim Shooter and Don Perlin. Introduced originally in 1992, he was then rebooted in 1996 after Acclaim Entertainment bought Valiant Comics. He was rebooted yet again by Valiant Entertainment, Inc. in 2012. is a fictional superhero that appeared in books published by Valiant Comics. Rai was the first original hero created by Valiant and had its beginning as a flipbook back-up feature in ''Magnus, Robot Fighter'' #5 (October 1991), in ''Rai'' #1 (October 1991). The popularity of the flipbook back-up story later led to an ongoing series. In his original incarnation, Rai is the spirit guardian that protects the nation of Japan in the 41st century. James Shooter (born September 27, 1951) is an American writer, editor and publisher for various comic books. He started professionally in the medium at the age of 14, and he is most notable for his successful and controversial run as Marvel Comics' ninth editor-in-chief, and his work as editor in chief of Valiant Comics. Early life Jim Shooter was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to parents Ken and Eleanor "Ellie" Shooter,Shooter, Jim.
