United States Curling Hall Of Fame
The United States Curling Association Hall of Fame was started in 1984 to recognize and honor individuals and teams that have achieved extraordinary distinction in curling or have made major contribution to the development of curling in the United States. It is operated by the United States Curling Association (USCA), the governing body for curling in the United States. The Hall of Fame is housed at the USCA headquarters in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. There have been 45 individuals and 4 teams inducted into the Hall of Fame. United States Curling Association
The United States Curling Association (USCA or USA Curling) is the national governing body of the sport of curling in the United States. The goal of the USCA is to grow the sport of curling in the United States and win medals in competitions both domestic and abroad. Curling's recent popularity has swelled the USCA to 185 curling clubs and approximately 23,500 curlers in the United States. Paul Pustovar
Paul Pustovar (born December 17, 1951 in Chisholm, Minnesota) is an American curler from Hibbing, Minnesota. He is one of the most prolific curlers from the United States, with over thirty years of experience. He has earned two bronze medals at the World Curling Championships and has earned five gold medals, four silver medals, and one bronze medal in the twenty-five national championships that he has participated in. He is also a former world senior champion. Early life Pustovar studied at the University of Minnesota Duluth and earned his bachelor's degree in education. Lisa Schoeneberg (born September 29, 1957) is an American curler and Olympian. She was a successful skip in the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s, leading her teams to two silver medals at the World Championships and represented the United States at the Olympic Games twice. Scott Baird (born May 7, 1951) is an American curler. At 54, he is the oldest American athlete to ever participate in the Winter Olympics, which he did at the 2006 Winter Olympics. Despite this feat, Baird was only the alternate for Pete Fenson's U.S. team and did not throw a stone, although he still received a bronze medal. On January 16, 2007, the team was named the 2006 USOC Team of the Year.
