The United States hosted at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, from 15–24 July 2022, marking the first ever track & field world championship in the U.S. The selection meet for these championships was the 2022 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Team members were announced on July 5. The United States won the first ever title of "World Team Champions", a trophy inaugurated by the IAAF during this championships. Athing Mu (born June 8, 2002) is an American middle-distance runner. She is the youngest woman in history to own Olympic and world titles in an individual track and field event. Twanisha "TeeTee" Terry (born January 24, 1999) is an American sprinter specializing in the 100 meters distance. She earned two major medals as part of U.S. women's 4 × 100 m relays, including gold at the 2022 World Athletics Championships. At age 19, in April 2018, Terry ran the 100 m in a time of 10.99 seconds at the Mt. SAC Relays, becoming the joint fourth-fastest under-20 woman in history. Abby Kathryn Steiner (born November 24, 1999) is an American track and field sprinter. She is the U.S. indoor record holder in the 200 m and 300 m, and the NCAA record holder in the 200 m. Jenna Elizabeth Prandini (born November 20, 1992) is an American track and field athlete, known for sprinting, but originally began her career doing jumping events. She is a two-time national champion at 200 meters ( 2015, 2018), a 2016 Olympian, and a 2020 Olympic silver medalist. Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone (, born August 7, 1999) is an American hurdler and sprinter who competes in the 400 meters hurdles. The men's 400 metres at the 2022 World Athletics Championships was held at the Hayward Field in Eugene from 17 to 22 July 2022. Summary The semi final took every athlete who broke 45 seconds into the final.
