United States At The 2011 World Championships In Athletics
The United States of America competed at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics from August 27 to September 4 in Daegu, South Korea. Team selection The team was led by reigning World Champions LaShawn Merritt (400m), Kerron Clement (400m hurdles), Dwight Phillips (long jump), Christian Cantwell (shot put), and Trey Hardee (decathlon) in the men's team, and Allyson Felix (200m), Sanya Richards-Ross (400m), and Brittney Reese (long jump) in the women's team. In the final roster Debbie Dunn and Delilah DiCrescenzo withdrew due to injury and were replaced. Michael Rodgers withdrew after testing positive for the banned stimulant methylhexaneamine at a meeting in Italy in Jul Trell Kimmons replaced him in the 100m. USA Track & Field (USATF) is the United States national governing body for the sports of track and field, cross country running, road running and racewalking (known as the sport of athletics outside the US). Greg Nixon (born September 12, 1981) is an American sprinter who specialises in the 400 meters. His success has come mostly in the 400m and 4×400-meter relay, he is a 3x World Champion and a 2x USA Champion. 2011 World Championships In Athletics – Men's 110 Metres Hurdles
The Men's 110 metres hurdles at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Daegu Stadium on August 28 and 29. The final featured the three fastest 110 hurdlers in history. World Record Holder Dayron Robles took an early lead but was being passed by former record holder Liu Xiang. Between the last two hurdles, Robles' right arm backswing caught Liu's oncoming left arm. Liu hit the tenth hurdle, with a second arm collision with Robles, slowing Liu enough to finish in third. Robles crossed the finish line first, but after the race, the Chinese team protested and Robles was disqualified, giving the championship to second finisher Jason Richardson.
