United Socialist Alliance
The Socialist Alliance was a political alliance and registered political party in Sri Lanka. It was founded in 2006 by five left-wing political parties: the Communist Party of Sri Lanka, Democratic Left Front, Desha Vimukthi Janatha Pakshaya, Lanka Sama Samaja Party and Sri Lanka Mahajana Pakshaya. The Socialist Alliance was aligned the United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA), and later the Sri Lanka People's Freedom Alliance. Raja Collure
Darrel Chandra Raja Collure (3 June 1938 – 7 December 2021) was a Sri Lankan politician who served as List of Governors of Uva, Governor of the Uva Province and List of governors of North Western Province, Governor of the North Western Province until his death in 2021. The Sri Lanka Mahajana Pakshaya (SLMP; Sri Lanka People's Party) is a political party in Sri Lanka, founded in 1984 by Vijaya Kumaranatunga. History 1980s Vijaya Kumaranatunga founded the party in 1984 and led it until his assassination in 1988. His wife, Chandrika Kumaranatunga, led the party for a short time after his death. The SLMP supported the Provincial Council Act and ran against the United National Party (UNP) in 1988.
