United Grand Lodges Of Germany
The United Grand Lodges of Germany (German: ''Vereinigte Großlogen von Deutschland'' or VGLvD) is an association (confederation) of the five Grand Lodges of Freemasons in Germany which are recognized as ''Regular Masonic jurisdiction, regular'' by the United Grand Lodge of England, and represents them all at an international level. The Masons of the VGLvD are committed to dignity, freedom and self-determination of people-centered traditions of their league. The organization claims to have approximately 470 lodges, all male, for a total of about 14,100 Masons (there is a separate Women's Grand Lodge of Germany and the two grand lodges recognize the existence of each other, though they have no official ties). The Grand Landlodge of the Freemasons of Germany (''Große Landesloge der Freimaurer von Deutschland'', GLL FvD or GLL), also: Order of Freemasons (''Freimaurerorden'', FO) is a Masonic Grand Lodge in Germany. The Grand National Mother Lodge "The Three Globes" (Große National-Mutterloge „Zu den drei Weltkugeln“) is the oldest recognized Masonic Grand Lodge in Germany, being found in Berlin in 1740. The Grand Lodge of British Freemasonry in Germany (GL BFG) is a Masonic Grand Lodge in Germany working in the English language and following English Masonic traditions. It was founded as a District Lodge in 1957 and after various transformations (see below) was eventually recognised as Grand Lodge in 1980. This Grand Lodge is one of the five United Grand Lodges of Germany (VGLvD). It currently has members from a variety of nations and in addition to the "resident members" in Germany, there are "non-resident members" all over the world.
