The Front for Victory ( es, Frente para la Victoria, FPV) was a centre-left Peronist electoral alliance in Argentina, and is formally a faction of the Justicialist Party. Former presidents Néstor Kirchner and Cristina Fernández de Kirchner were elected as representatives of this party. The Front for Victory is ideologically identified with what has been called Kirchnerism. Legally, the Front should not be confused with the Victory Party, which is just one of the political parties in it. 2015 Argentine General Election
General elections were held in Argentina on 25 October 2015 to elect the President and National Congress, and followed primary elections which were held on 9 August 2015. A second round of voting between the two leading candidates took place on 22 November, after surprisingly close results forced a runoff. On the first runoff voting ever held for an Argentine Presidential Election, Buenos Aires Mayor Mauricio Macri narrowly defeated Front for Victory candidate and Buenos Aires Province Governor Daniel Scioli with 51.34% of votes. As of 2021, his vote count of nearly 13 million votes makes it the highest number of votes any candidate has ever received in Argentinian history. Argentina is subdivided into twenty-three provinces, each of it counting with its own governor. The country is organized under a federal system, so each province has its own constitution, and the powers and regulations of each governor vary. Buenos Aires is not a province, nor is it part of Buenos Aires Province. The 1994 amendment of the Constitution of Argentina made it an autonomous city, with its own constitution, ruled by an elected mayor (Buenos Aires City Chief of Government). A governor may be removed by the national government in the case of great turmoil, or if the legitimate governor had been illegally removed, for example, by a coup d'état. The President of Argentina would ask in this case for the Federal intervention of the province, which must be approved by the National Congress of Argentina. The Third Position Party ( es, Partido Tercera Posición; P3P) is a minor Peronist political party in Argentina. It was founded in 2015 by congresswoman Graciela Camaño and union leader as a split from the Justicialist Party. It supported Sergio Massa's unsuccessful presidential bid in 2015, and it is currently part of the Federal Consensus coalition. As Camaño is a sitting member of the Argentine Chamber of Deputies, the party counts with representation at the federal level.
