United (foaled April 7, 2015, in Kentucky) is an American Thoroughbred racehorse and winner of multiple top-level stakes races for owners Larry and Nanci Roth and their daughter Jaime. Career United's first race was on May 27, 2018, at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, Ontario, where he came in 5th. On July 4, 2018, he picked up his win first in a Maiden Special Weight race at Woodbine. This was his last win of the season and his last until April 6, 2019, when he won an Allowance Optional Claiming race. He competed in his first stakes race on May 25, 2019, when he came in 2nd place at the 2019 Charles Whittingham Stakes. This would be the start of four straight podium finishes at stakes races, as he finished 3rd at the 2019 John Henry Turf Championship Stakes, 2nd at the 2019 Breeders' Cup Turf and 2nd at the 2019 Hollywood Turf Cup Stakes. Giant's Causeway (horse)
Giant's Causeway (14 February 1997 – 16 April 2018) was an American-bred, Irish-trained Thoroughbred racehorse who won five Group One races in Britain and Ireland as a three-year-old in 2000: the St James's Palace Stakes, Eclipse Stakes, Sussex Stakes, Juddmonte International Stakes and Irish Champion Stakes. He was named the 2000 Cartier Horse of the Year. The horse was sent to stud and proved to be an outstanding sire. Nicknamed the "Iron Horse" on account of his toughness and constitution, Giant's Causeway was hailed by his trainer Aidan O'Brien as a "true champion". Sharp Samurai (foaled March 9, 2014) is an American Thoroughbred racehorse and the winner of the 2018 City of Hope Mile Stakes. Career Sharp Samurai's first race was on November 5, 2016, at Santa Anita, where he came in 8th. He was able to pick up his first win in his next race on February 10, 2017, in a Maiden Claiming race at Santa Anita. He grabbed his first stakes win six races into his career, when he won the Rainbow Stakes on June 10, 2017, at Santa Anita. He defeated 2nd place finisher, Conquest Farenheit, by 1 and 1/4th lengths to win $75,000. This victory started a four win race streak. Seattle Slew (February 15, 1974 – May 7, 2002) was a champion American Thoroughbred horse racing, racehorse who became the tenth winner of the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing (United States), American Triple Crown (1977). Stage Door Johnny (May 22, 1965 – November 21, 1996) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse best known for his win in the third leg of the 1968 U.S. Triple Crown series, the Belmont Stakes. Background Stage Door Johnny was a chestnut horse with a white blaze, owned by the Whitney family's Greentree Stable. He was sired by Prince John, a four-time leading broodmare sire in North America. Paxson, Heavenly Cause was sired by Grey Dawn, the 1964 French Champion Two-Year-Old Colt and 1990 Leading broodmare sire in North America. Her dam was Lady Dulcinea, a granddaughter of Nearco who has been described by '' Thoroughbred Heritage'' as "one of the greatest racehorses of the Twentieth Century" and "one of the most important sires of the century." South Ocean (1967–1989) was a Canadian Thoroughbred Hall of Fame mare raced by Charles Taylor. She was bred by Charles's father E. P. Taylor, Canada's preeminent name in Thoroughbred racing and in world breeding history. Breeding South Ocean was bred at E. P. Taylor's Windfields Farm near Oshawa, Ontario. Northern Dancer (May 27, 1961 – November 16, 1990) was a Thoroughbred who, in 1964, became the first Canadian-bred horse to win the Kentucky Derby. Rahy (February 18, 1985 – September 22, 2011) was a Thoroughbred racehorse who competed in England and the United States. Background Bred by Hill 'n' Dale Farms in Lexington, Rahy was a son of the very important sire Blushing Groom and out of the Eclipse Award winner and Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame mare Glorious Song. Rahy was purchased as a yearling for US$2 million by Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum and brought to race in England for the 1987 season. Racing career Out of his seven starts at ages two and three, Rahy won three races.
