Milton-Union High School
Milton-Union High School is a public high school in West Milton, Ohio, United States. Its name is derived from the town in which it lies (West Milton), and the township which it serves (Union Township). It is the only high school in the Milton-Union Exempted Village Schools district. The school's mascot is a bulldog. The school met all twelve indicators on the 2009-2010 Ohio Department of Education report card, earning an "Excellent" rating. On their latest scorecard, Milton-Union scored a 73.02 (2022). They rank #193 in Ohio High Schools and #15 in Dayton, Ohio Metro Area High Schools. West Milton, Ohio
West Milton is a village in Miami County, Ohio, United States. The population was 4,697 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area. History The first settlement at West Milton was made in 1807. West Milton was named for John Milton, an English poet. A post office called Milton was established in 1824, and the name was changed to West Milton in 1829. The village was incorporated around 1834. Government West Milton uses the council-manager government system. In this system, the mayor is the ceremonial head, elected by the public every four years. Union is a city in Montgomery and Miami Counties in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 6,859 at the time of the 2020 census. It is part of the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area. Ironically, Union lies west of West Union, Ohio, the county seat of Adams County approximately 60 miles east of Cincinnati. Ludlow Falls is named after surveyor Israel Ludlow. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of , all land. Ludlow Falls is a part of the Milton-Union School district located in the neighboring West Milton. Ludlow Creek, a tributary of the Stillwater River, flows through Ludlow Falls. The village's name is derived from the waterfall of the stream located in the village. There was a railroad line through Ludlow Falls that was built in 1881 from Springfield, Ohio to Indianapolis, Indiana. It was later owned by the New York Central Railroad.
