Union Street (film)
''Union Street'' is a Canadian documentary film, directed by Jamila Pomeroy and released in 2023. The film centres on the history of the Hogan's Alley neighbourhood in Vancouver, British Columbia, a predominantly Black Canadian community which was demolished in the early 1970s in the name of urban renewal. The film premiered at the 2023 Vancouver International Film Festival. Jamila Pomeroy
Jamila Pomeroy is a Kenyan- Canadian writer, director, filmmaker and actor. She is best known for her 2022 series ''A Happier Planet with Jamila Pomeroy'' on CBC, and her 2023 documentary film '' Union Street''. VIFF Centre
The VIFF Centre (formerly the Vancouver International Film Centre and the Vancity Theatre) is a movie theatre in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, which houses the 175-seat Vancity Theatre, the 41-seat Studio Theatre, as well as the offices for the Vancouver International Film Festival. Located at 1181 Seymour Street in downtown Vancouver, the theatre can accommodate seminars, live performances, film, video, and multimedia presentations.
