Union Station (MetroLink)
Union Station is a St. Louis St. Louis MetroLink, MetroLink station. It is partially located underneath historic Union Station (St. Louis), St. Louis Union Station and primarily serves the Downtown West, St. Louis, Downtown West area, including Citypark (St. Louis), CITYPARK Stadium and the St. Louis Aquarium. The station is located below 18th Street at its intersection with Clark Avenue near the St. Louis Post Office and utilizes the former baggage tunnel at Union Station. In 2013, Metro's Arts in Transit program commissioned the work ''Spring Forth'' by Jim Gallucci for installation near the station. The stainless steel sculpture depicts fantastical plant forms that leap and arch from the grassy embankment, celebrating the vitality that the MetroLink system brings to the St. Louis Greater St. Louis, area. Civic Center Station (MetroLink)
Civic Center is a train and bus station in downtown St. Louis, Missouri serving the Red and Blue lines of the St. Louis MetroLink. It is also the primary transfer station for MetroBus and a bus terminal for Madison County Transit. The station is located near Enterprise Center, home of the St. Louis Blues, Soldiers Memorial, and the Saint Louis Public Library Central Library. The station also serves the adjoining Gateway Multimodal Transportation Center which has intercity services provided by Amtrak, Greyhound, and Megabus. Shiloh–Scott Station
Shiloh-Scott is a St. Louis MetroLink station. Located adjacent to Scott Air Force Base in Shiloh, Illinois, this station is the eastern terminus of the MetroLink system. It opened on June 23, 2003, as part of Phase 2 of the St. Clair County Extension, which extended MetroLink from College to Shiloh-Scott. The Shiloh-Scott station is the terminus for the St. Clair County Transit District's 14 mile (22.5 km) MetroBikeLink shared-use path system. The 2.9 mile (4.7 km) segment connecting the College station to Shiloh-Scott was opened in 2017. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. An alternative arrangement is to position side platforms on either side of the tracks. The historical use of island platforms depends greatly upon the location.
