Ungut County
Ungut County ( fa, شهرستان انگوت, ) is in Ardabil province, Ardabil province, Iran. The capital of the county is the city of Tazeh Kand-e Angut. At the 2006 census, the region's population (as Angut District of Germi County) was 27,494 in 5,626 households. The following census in 2011 counted 22,606 in 5,485 households. At the 2016 census, the county's population was 20,335 in 5,738 households. It was separated from Germi County in December 2020. Iran Standard Time (IRST) or Iran Time (IT) is the time zone used in Iran. Iran uses a UTC offset UTC+03:30. IRST is defined by the 52.5 degrees east meridian, the same meridian which defines the Iranian calendar and is the official meridian of Iran. Between 2005 and 2008, by decree of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran did not observe daylight saving time (DST) (called ''Iran Daylight Time'' or ''IRDT''). It was reintroduced from 21 March 2008. On 21 September 2022, Iran abolished DST and now observes standard time year-round. Daylight Saving Time transitions The dates of DST transitions in Iran were based on the Solar Hijri calendar, the official calendar of Iran, which is in turn based on the March equinox (Nowruz) as determined by astronomical calculation at the meridian for Iran Standard Time (52.5°E or GMT+3.5h). Germi County
Germi County ( fa, شهرستان گرمی) is in the northern part of Ardabil province, Iran. The capital of the county is the city of Germi, located from Ardabil, the capital of the province. At the 2006 census, the county's population was 89,248 in 18,710 households. The following census in 2011 counted 84,267 people in 21,156 households. At the 2016 census, the county's population was 76,901 in 22,349 households. Angut District was separated from the county in December 2020 to form Ungut County. Almost all of the people of this county are Shia Muslim and speak in Azeri.
