''Under Therapy'' ( es, Bajo terapia, links=no) is a 2023 Spanish comedy film directed by Gerardo Herrero based on the stage play by Matías del Federico. It stars Malena Alterio, Alexandra Jiménez, Fele Martínez, Antonio Pagudo, Eva Ugarte, and Juan Carlos Vellido. Plot The plot follows three troubled couples convened by a psychologist, who provides them with a set of instructions for their therapy instead of attending to the session. Cast Production The film is a Tornasol and Alcaraván Films production, and it had the participation of Movistar Plus+ and backing from Gobierno de Navarra. It was fully shot at Pamplona's La Casa de las Gomas and its surroundings. Release The film was presented at the 26th Málaga Film Festival on 12 March 2023. Gerardo Herrero
Gerardo Herrero Pérez-Gamir (born 28 January 1953) is a Spanish film director, screenwriter and producer. He is a prolific promoter of international coproductions and collaborations between Spain and Hispanic American countries. From 1993 to 1994, he chaired the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain. His 1997 film '' Comanche Territory'' was entered into the 47th Berlin International Film Festival. Herrero founded Tornasol Films together with Javier López Blanco in 1987. He has often co-produced in tandem with Uruguayan producer Mariela Besuievsky, with whom he has also shared a domestic partnership. Málaga Film Festival
The Málaga Film Festival, formerly Málaga Spanish Film Festival (FMCE), is an annual film festival held in Málaga, Spain. The festival was established to promote Spanish cinema and help disseminate information about Spanish films. Since 2017, it features an additional focus on Ibero-American films. History The first edition ran from 29 May to 6 June 1998. The guest of honor was Fernando Fernán Gómez, and the retrospective was dedicated to Montxo Armendariz. The festival's first 11 editions were directed by Salomón Castiel. In 2009, Castiel was replaced by Carmelo Romero, who helmed the festival until 2012.
